How Drainage Grating is Manufactured

First, the production of drainage grating requires the selection of high-quality steel materials. Common materials include ordinary carbon steel, stainless steel, and galvanized steel. These materials have good strength and corrosion resistance, meeting the requirements of drainage grating.

Second, the production of drainage grating involves cutting and welding processes. Initially, the selected steel materials are cut to the required plate dimensions according to design specifications. Subsequently, the cut plates are welded to form the framework structure of the drainage grating. The welding process must ensure the strength and seal of the welds to guarantee the service life and drainage efficiency of the drainage grating.

Next, the drainage grating undergoes surface treatment. Common surface treatment methods include hot-dip galvanization, painting, and electroplating. Steps and Methods for Installing Drainage Grating

Installing Drainage Grating

The installation of drainage grating requires various components, including steel grating, angle iron, flat steel, bolts, washers, and expansion anchors. The installation process should follow these steps:

  1. Measurement and Positioning: Begin by measuring and positioning the drainage grating at the designated location. Cut the selected steel grating to fit the measurements as needed.
  2. Fixing Steel Grating with Angle Iron: Embed angle iron around the perimeter of the drain and secure it with drilled holes.
  3. Installing Flat Steel: Place the flat steel on top of the angle iron and secure it with bolts and washers.
  4. Installing Bottom Plate: If a bottom plate is used, position it on top of the flat steel and secure it with bolts and washers.
  5. Installing Anti-Slip Steel Plate: Place the anti-slip steel plate on top of the bottom plate or flat steel and secure it with bolts and washers.
  6. Fixing the Steel Grating: Position the steel grating on top of the anti-slip steel plate and secure it with bolts and washers.
  7. Fixing the End Plate: Install the end plate on the last steel grating and secure it with bolts and washers.
  8. Installing Expansion Anchors: Insert the expansion anchors into the holes and expand them with a hammer until they are fully secure.
  9. Cleaning and Inspection: Finally, clean and inspect the installed drainage grating to ensure proper installation and absence of loose components.

Examine the Grid: The grid should be regular and typically rectangular in shape. The welds should be secure and robust, especially in the case of manually welded steel grating.

Check the Edge Welding: The welding of the twisting square steel on the edge should be parallel to the flat steel used for edging.

Inspect for Zinc Residue: Look for any zinc or welding residues on the surface and check if they have been adequately cleaned and removed.
